This NYC Restaurant Just Introduced Their Special Dog-Friendly Menu

We all know that New Yorkers love their dogs, you can see proud pet owners walking them all around the city. The cute little creatures are welcome in almost every aspect of society, except perhaps when it comes to the dining scene.

Dog Menu at The Wilson

The Takeout Features The Wilson in NYC Restaurant’s Dog Menu

NYC’s dogs can eat better than most humans with a new menu at Manhattan restaurant The Wilson. The restaurant’s culinary director James Haskell was inspired by the meals he creates for his own English bulldog, Stella, Forbes reports. His home-cooked meals cater to Stella’s preference for soft-scrambled eggs with sea salt and extra-virgin olive oil. Not to get off track, but how does one train one’s dog to determine extra-virgin from regular olive oil? Mine just knows “roll over” and “shake” and “oh my god stop chewing that.”

The Wilson’s dog menu—served only on the patio—includes a 16-ounce ribeye steak with grilled baby vegetables, and pan-roasted salmon ($26) for “dieting” doggies. A box of sliced apples and carrots costs $11. Haskell tells Forbes the dishes are designed to be shared between human and dog, though that’s still a pricey meal to share with an animal that would probably scarf a squished french fry off the sidewalk if the opportunity presented. And aside from chocolate or other foods toxic to dogs, can’t humans share almost any meal with their dog if they’d like?

Perhaps I’m just out of touch by feeding my dog… uh, dog food. (I’ve never heard any complaints.) People are willing to pony up for Instant Pot doggie meal kits, and some enjoy the experience of cooking for their pets from specific canine cookbooksVegan pet food has also emerged as its own category, so restaurants were only the next logical step. If your pet is thirsty, by the way, there’s dog beer for that.

Dinning room at Cleo

Your Weekend Plans Features Cleo in Their Roundup For The Week

Cleo: Cleo, located on Park Ave and East 30th Street inside The Mondrian Hotel, is a great, modern, upscale Mediterranean spot to head to on a Saturday night. The main bar is a fun hangout spot within itself – located at the very front of the restaurant with plenty of seating and a wide variety of cocktails to choose from! We tried a whole bunch of delicious food, including the hummus, zucchini chips, and Greek salad to start. The pita bread that comes with the hummus was extra doughy, which we really appreciated. Next up, we went for the chicken kebabs, brussel sprouts and saffron rice. The brussel sprouts with hazelnuts, orange, fresno chili, cilantro, and soy sherry vin were the winner by far …. until we got to dessert. Don’t leave without trying the sticky toffee pudding which comes with butterscotch, walnut tuile, and vanilla gelato. The chocolate cake underneath the ice cream came out smoking hot, with actual steam released as we cut into our first bite! We must note that the service was also extra outstanding, from great recommendations on what to order, to making sure our wine glass was always perfectly full. Thanks, Cleo, for making us feel like Cleopatra ;).

Uproxx Features Refinery Rooftop in Bartenders Tell Us The Best Gins For National Gin And Tonic Day

Alli Torres, Bartender at Refinery Rooftop in New York City

“My favorite gin to work with right now is a local one from New York Distilling Co; Dorothy Parker. It has some fun botanicals that really pop when mixed with a strong tonic. Highlighting the elderberries and cinnamon in the recipe, I like to use Q-Indian Tonic with a cracked cinnamon stick and a slice of pear in my Gin & Tonics. It’s so clean and delicious, it doesn’t need much to showcase the flavors.”
