The Vivant Features In Good Company Hospitality In Breaking the Martini Myths

Will shared his own thoughts on the martinis that are served at all of In Good Company’s absolutely fabulous New York City venues, including the Park Avenue Tavern, which simply oozes New York when you walk in the door. “The Martini is perhaps the most personal drink that exists.  Sure it may seem simple. To put it concisely, a Martini is essentially just chilled booze with a few accents.  It’s a bare yet elegant cocktail finding elegance in simplicity.

Manhattan Digest Features Refinery Rooftop In Refinery Rooftop’s Endless Summer Soirée Finishes the Season in Style

Refinery Rooftop, located in the Refinery Hotel, was the perfect way to spend last Sunday! It wasn’t too hot or too humid. Perfect weather to indulge on a lazy day.

Part of their first ever annual “Endless Summer” event, Refinery hosted a wonderful BBQ spread brought to you by Swingbelly’s BBQ and beer by Montauk Beer. The BBQ included a whole hog! The Jew in me recoiled, but the foodie in me squealed in delight and I decided to dig right in!

Not only was Swingbelly’s BBQ mouthwatering, the beer crisp and cold, but the view and ambiance just made me realize how damn lucky I am to live in NYC.–

The Alcohol Professor Features In Good Company In These Cocktails Get Into the Groove

BEDTIME STORIES

Will Benedetto, Cocktail Curator, In Good Company Hospitality

  • .75oz House Spirits Krogstad Aquavit
  • .75 oz Ilegal Mezcal Joven
  • .25 oz Green Chartreuse
  • .5oz Velvet Falernum
  • 1 oz of Butterfly pea flower tea powder floated on top

Combine aquavit, mezcal, Green Chartreuse, and Velvet Falernum in a stirring vessel and stir with ice until properly diluted. Pour over a large ice cube in a rocks glass. Using a bars poon gently pour 1 oz of butterfly pea flower tea over top.

Says Benedetto: “In 1994 Madonna released her 6th album Bedtime Stories. This album always stuck out to me as the first where Madonna was really herself the whole way through. She allows herself to be more exposed than previously and even collaborates with Björk on a track. The cocktail is a wild one. Like the album it’s all over the place. A stirred and exceptionally boozy cocktail, this is a great one to end your night. Visually the idea was to make it look sort of like the outer-body experience of dreaming while asleep – booze in a glass with an ice cube viewed through a surreal lens with an alien-like green hue and a purple halo. As you pick the drink up and set it down again the drink begins to blend but rather than just homogenizing, the butterfly pea flower reacts with Chartreuse miraculously creating a bright red.”

East End Taste Features Cleo In The Weekly Blog

I dined at Cleo at Mondrian Park Avenue in Manhattan last Sunday on a calm Sunday evening, away from the hustle and bustle of New York Fashion Week, my reason for being in the city. Cleo Restaurant serves delectable Mediterranean cuisine including kebabs, Moroccan lamb, Branzino, and plenty of vegetarian options. They also have the sweetest waitstaff around. I could tell that they enjoyed being there and I appreciated their sincere hospitality and friendliness.

REFINERY ROOFTOP

MIDTOWN WEST

Exposed brick walls and industrial-style furniture allegedly paying homage to the Garment District’s history welcome you to the retractable glass-coveredrooftop at the Refinery Hotel. Note the looming Empire State Building above the often-rowdy bar, as well as the cold-weather appropriate fireplace (should you be lucky enough to earn a spot near the flames). There are plenty of small bites, but you’re really here for the drinks, which you can order by the four-serving caddy. Pick from their takes on the standards, like the Bangkok mule, yuzu margarita, and exotic whiskey smash.

Paulette Magazine Features Refinery Rooftop In Places To Visit After Work

If the Refinery Hotel’s bar becomes more touristy during the summer months, it remains a highly respected address for locals who want to get high – the time for an aperitif. The cocktails are neat, the plates are a la carte are ideal for sharing a few bites with loved ones and the view of the Empire State Building is priceless. Or so, but it is reasonable so you would be wrong to deprive yourself. We stop there during our passages on the fifth, and the disappointment has never arrived.
